PH — 2017 BID Assessment <br />December 20, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />resolution will confirm the 2017 Assessment report for the BID and levy the assessments for <br />2017 (Exhibit 1). <br />The 2017 Assessment Report includes a description of the BID assessment formula, where <br />certain business classifications are charged 25%, 100% or 150% of their business license fee as <br />their BID assessment. This formula was established in 1984 and remains unchanged. To ensure <br />full understanding of how the assessment formula is applied to each business, attached as <br />Exhibit 2 is a listing of all businesses which would be subject to the 2017 BID assessment <br />showing which charge would apply to each business. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item allows the City to meet Goal #3 - Economic Development, Objective #4 <br />(Continue to pursue objectives that shape downtown Santa Ana into a thriving, culturally diverse, <br />shopping, dining, and entertainment destination), Strategy F (Partner with downtown business <br />and merchant associations to program events that showcase restaurants, shopping and <br />entertainment venues). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
