EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF BANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS 16-098 <br />PAINTING — CORBIN CENTER AND SOUTHWEST SENIOR CENTER <br />SCOPE, OF SERVICES & SPECIFICATIONS <br />The City of Santa Ana provides recreational activities, preventative health care, family support, <br />referrals, and other social services at Clty-owned community centers such as Corbin Center and <br />Southwest Senior Center. The two centers are located adjacent to each other. The goals of the <br />project are to address deferred building maintenance Issues and provide a welcoming facility to <br />center visitors and their families. <br />Highly desirable contractor traits: <br />• All Contractor workers for this project should have at least 5 years of work experience in <br />painting special-purpose and high -impact exterior and Interior surfaces such as those <br />found at recreation and community centers. <br />• References for a minimum of three (3) previous completed paint jobs of similar size in <br />commercial facilities. <br />• Previous work In municipal environments Is highly desirable. <br />MON,7:M.li� <br />The work wili include, but is not limited to, surface preparation; baseboard and corner repairs, <br />caulking around windows and other areas as needed; spackling nail and other holes; sanding; <br />wallboard taping; wallpaper removal; equipment preparation; painting of wails, ceilings (various <br />heights); wall texturing; or any other related services considered as standard for the industry. <br />1,0 General Requirements <br />1 .i Contractor shall furnish paint, labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and all other <br />requirements necessary to complete the painting of the two community centers, <br />1.2 Contractor shall begin services within seventy-two (72) hours of notification. <br />1.3 All surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned of all dirt, grease, mill scale, moisture, oil, rust, <br />salts, stains, soluble residues, and any other foreign matter prior to painting, <br />1.4 Contractor shall perform all necessary site preparation such as moving and protecting <br />shrubbery and furniture, and setting up warning signs around the project area. <br />1.5 Contractor shall perform all necessary surface preparation such as caulking, dry wall repair, <br />spackling, scraping, and priming as needed to ensure the utmost quality of the end product <br />according to manufacturer specifications; <br />1.5.1 Remove all surface contaminants that will Interfere with adhesion of subsequent <br />coats of paint without damaging the substrate or adjacent areas. <br />Painting—Corbin Center and Southwest Senior Carter 16-008 <br />26C-14 <br />
