REQUEST FOR <br />Historic Resources Commission Action <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMVISSION MEETING DATE: <br />JANUARY 26, 2017 <br />TITLE: <br />PUBLIC HEARING — HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION APPLICATION NO. 2016-30; <br />HISTORIC REGISTER CATEGORIZATION <br />NO. 2016-28 FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED <br />AT 2467 NORTH RIVERSIDE DRIVE <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NOS. 5, 2 5, 31 <br />Prepared by Hally Soboleske <br />xecuti Director <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION SECRETARY <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />Planning Manager <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2016-30 and Historic <br />Register Categorization No. 2016-28. <br />Request of Applicant <br />Eugen and Ann Andres are requesting approval to designate an existing residence located at 2467 <br />North Riverside Drive to the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. <br />Pro'ect Location and Site Description <br />The subject property is located on the north side of Riverside Drive, between Flower Street and Benton <br />Way. The subject site contains a 3,680 square foot, two-story Colonial Revival styled residence with a <br />detached garage on a 23,226 square foot residential lot (Exhibit 1). <br />Analysis of the Issues <br />In March 1999, the City Council approved an ordinance establishing the Historic Resources <br />Commission and the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. The Historic Resources <br />Commission may, by resolution and at a noticed public hearing, designate as historical property any <br />building or part thereof, object, structure, or site having importance to the history or architecture of <br />the city in accordance with the criteria set forth in Section 30-2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />(SAMC). <br />This project entails applying the selection criteria established in Chapter 30 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, Places of Historical and Architectural Significance to determine if this structure is <br />eligible for historic designation to the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. <br />1 <br />
