Agreement with Chapman University <br />February 21, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br />National Review of COP Practices, as well as final reports on the Community Forums, Focus <br />Groups, and the results of the surveys. <br />To date, all five community forums have been completed and data collation pertaining to the <br />forums is ongoing. Based on unexpected delays, the project was not completed prior to the <br />expiration of the original contract. Following the approval of this item, Chapman University and <br />our resident partners will move forward with Focus Group interviews and the ultimate publication <br />and distribution of the Community Oriented Policing Survey. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #1 - Community Safety; Objective <br />#1 (Modernize the Community Policing philosophy to improve customer service, crime prevention <br />and traffic / pedestrian / bicycle safety); Strategy A (Develop and publish a community survey to <br />measure the community's perceptions of community policing and police services provided by the <br />Police Department). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $15,000 are available in the FY 2016-17 Strategic Plan Projects Fund <br />Contract Services account (no. 05214018 62300).
