Donahue, property owners, for the structure located at 2108 North <br />Greenleaf Street, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION ACTION <br />On January 26, 2017, the Historic Resources Commission recommended by a vote of 6:0 <br />(Schaefer absent, Murashie abstained) that the City Council authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute the attached Mills Act agreement with Robert F. and Michelle A. <br />Donahue, property owners, for the structure located at 2108 North Greenleaf Street, subject to <br />non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This action allows for the approval of a Historic Property Preservation Agreement (Mills Act <br />Contract) which provides a potential property tax reduction allowing the property owner to <br />reinvest the tax savings into the maintenance of the historic property (Exhibit A). Additionally, the <br />agreement prevents inappropriate alterations to the historic structures. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #2 (expand opportunities for conservation and <br />environmental sustainability) and Objective #3 (facilitate diverse housing opportunities and <br />support efforts to preserve and improve the livability of Santa Ana neighborhoods). <br />2513-1 <br />
