Taylor, 53, has been a successful businessman <br /> and civic leader in Santa Ana for the past 17 years. <br /> A former appointee to the Santa Ana City Council, Mr. Taylor <br /> founded Taylor Thornton Co. , in April, 1946. Six years later <br /> the company opened a branch operation in Anaheim. The two <br /> original partners have expanded the fin to a county-wide basis. <br /> A native of Whitehaven, Tenn. , Mr. Taylor was a state finance <br /> and tax official before volunteering for World War II service in <br /> tt'e U. S. Coast Guard. He attended Officers Training School at <br /> Fort McHenry, and after graduation he served as captain of the <br /> port at St, Paul, Minn. After the war, Mr. Taylor settled in <br /> Santa Ana and immediately opened his present business. <br /> Mr. Taylor is a member of Masonic Lodge g #559, the Santa Ana <br /> Elks Club and the First Methodist Church. He has been a member <br /> of the Boy Scout Century Club for the past nine years, and first <br /> became a member of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce in 1948. <br /> ilI <br /> Ifl <br />
