His father, the late H. E, W. Barnes, was a pioneer <br /> Anaheim businessman who served on that City's Council for many <br /> years. <br /> His grandfather was mayor of Santa Ana in the 1880ts and was <br /> I. <br /> one of a group of five men who, in 1889, succeeded in detaching <br /> Orange County from Los Angeles County. <br /> E <br /> Mr. Barnes has distinguished himself in Orange County <br /> business, civic and political affairs. He has served as chairman <br /> of the Orange County March of Dimes and as chairman of the Orange H <br /> County Cancer Fund.
