H. The money collected by the refuse program surcharge has been <br /> conservatively set; the fee will not pay for all the costs of the. The <br /> increase in the refuse program surcharge established by this resolution is <br /> estimated to collect $250,000.00 per year. <br /> I. The increase in the program surcharge will not increase the total rates <br /> charged to the customers. <br /> J. The City Council incorporates herein, as though fully set forth, the Request <br /> For Council Action accompanying this resolution, and all background <br /> information and studies presented to the City Council. <br /> Section 2. The City Council hereby increases the following refuse program <br /> surcharge on business and apartment services. <br /> A. The refuse service surcharge increasing the amount of the solid waste <br /> program surcharge established pursuant to section 10 of the second <br /> amended and restated agreement for the collection of solid waste <br /> generated and/or accumulated in the City of Santa Ana is hereby <br /> increased from seven and one half (71/2%) to nine (9%) percent. <br /> B. The Contractor shall commence collecting this refuse program surcharge <br /> effective July 1, 2002. <br /> Section 3. That without further action of the City Council this increase in program <br /> surcharge shall be incorporated into the City's Miscellaneous Fee Schedule. <br /> Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br /> the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br /> this Resolution. <br /> ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 2002. <br /> St-Miguel A.
