Requests for bulky itemservice will be handled in the following manner: <br /> • Requests for bulky item service received by 9 a.m. will be <br /> routed and serviced on that specified date. <br /> • Requests that are received after 9 a.m. will be routed and <br /> serviced on the next regular service day. <br /> Recyclable items such as stoves,water heaters,washer/dryers and mattresses <br /> will be removed from the solid waste stream and delivered to our MRF for <br /> recycling. All requests for bulky item service will be filed and logged by the <br /> operations department of Great Western Reclamation. <br /> A special community outreach program designed to promote the free bulky <br /> item pick-up service is described in the public education element of this section. <br /> 6. Arterial Collection Program <br /> Great Western Reclamation will implement a proposed new program to remove <br /> solid waste from containers specified by the City of Santa Ana. The containers will <br /> be placed on arterial streets and will be serviced at least once a week. <br /> Options for collection times and methods will be coordinated with the City and <br /> not limited to the following suggestions: <br /> • Great Western Reclamation will assign areas that have an <br /> arterial container to regular route drivers. During the normal <br /> service cycle for that area, the driver will remove all solid <br /> waste from the container and clean up all debris and waste <br /> within ten feet of the container or, <br /> 11 <br />
