The health and safety of our people is a fundamental part of our everyday <br /> business decisions. Great Western Reclamation plans and takes reasonable precautions <br /> in order to protect our people from injury and illness. Local, regional and corporate management are highly committed <br /> to these policies and goals (Please see enclosed Safety Policy Statements). <br /> To achieve these policies and goals regarding safety, Great Western Reclamation has <br /> in place the following procedures and programs that are provided by Waste Management <br /> of North America, Inc.: <br /> Pre-hire policy <br /> • DMV clearance check. <br /> • Pre-hire physical. <br /> • Drug screening. <br /> • Background investigation. <br /> A sample of the pre-employment requirements are provided in the <br /> Attachments element of this section. <br /> After hire procedure - Two week driver training program <br /> • Eight hours of training with video "Coaching the refuse driver." <br /> • Introduction to Great Western Reclamation. <br /> • On road driver training. <br /> • Numerous safety films are shown. <br /> • Driver road tests. <br /> • Written exams to validate driver's DMV & CD license <br /> knowledge. <br /> 20 <br />
