Councilmember Tinajero, read poetic message about being vigilant and speak <br />up for justice. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento, expressed practical support for item; need to partner <br />with organizations and provide resources. <br />City Attorney Carvalho, noted that she will be meeting with community members <br />and offer legal services. <br />Councilmember Solorio, may need an Ad Hoc Committee to review matter and <br />other legislative issues; need strong immigrant rights office. <br />Councilmember Villegas, supports our Country; opined that we need to focus on <br />City affairs and allow the courts to rule on matter. <br />Mayor Pulido, opined that matter may have ramifications; Councilmember <br />Villegas concurred. <br />MOTION: Direct staff to prepare resolution for City Council consideration. <br />MOTION: Tinajero <br />SECOND: Benavides <br />VOTE: AYES: <br />Benavides, Sarmiento, Solorio, Tinajero (4) <br />NOES: <br />Pulido, Villegas (2) <br />ABSTAIN: <br />None (0) <br />ABSENT: <br />Martinez (1) <br />"Councilmember Sarmiento left the meeting at 10:53 and did not return. <br />ADJOURNED THE JOINT MEETING AT 10:54 P.M.
