Outreach <br />strategies included door -to -door, flyer distribution at schools and churches, <br />announcements at community meetings, bike rides, and social media or email blasts. <br />SAAS coordinated family friendly activities and a bike and walk audit at the 4 -day <br />community charrettes in which 150 residents participated. <br />Year: December 2015- Current <br />Client: KTU +A, Planning and Landscape Architecture firm <br />Contact Person: Joe Punsalan, Senior Associate, (619) 294 -4477, ioe @ktua.com <br />Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Education Program: <br />SAAS was sub - contracted to coordinate the outreach and development of the Bicycle <br />and Pedestrian Safety Program accessible to all Santa Ana residents. SAAS assisted with <br />the development of curriculum and logistics of scheduling for 10 Traffic Safety 101 <br />classes. Members of SAAS served as course instructors and outreached to recruit <br />participants through existing networks and social media. SAAS coordinated and hosted <br />10 bicycle light and helmet distributions at busy corner intersections in the city. SAAS <br />assisted with the coordination of the LCI Seminar and recruited local residents to train. <br />Year: January 2016- September 2016 <br />Client: Alta Planning + Design, Inc. <br />Contact Person: Ryan Johnson, Senior Planner, (213) 437- 3392, <br />ryanjohnson @altaplanning.com <br />Active Transportation Leadership Program: <br />SAAS administered the Active Transportation Leadership Program in Santa Ana through <br />a partnership of 4 non - profit organizations. The program included coordinating eight <br />educational workshops on active transportation policy and advocacy in which 50 adult <br />and youth residents participated. SAAS facilitated the development of a youth led <br />advocacy project for a bike trail extension that connected low- income neighborhoods <br />to the downtown area.
