<br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES 3 FEBRUARY 27, 2017 <br /> <br />ABSENCES <br /> <br />3. EXCUSED ABSENCES – None. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />4. STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br />Planning Manager Neal: <br /> The second General Plan Advisory Group meeting will be held on Wednesday, <br />March 1; focus will be on the Community Input Report. <br /> Explained the intent of the Sunshine Ordinance meetings is for community <br />members to discuss projects directly with the developer, it is not a City meeting. <br />Staff is working on implementing a Planning and Building Calendar which will <br />contain all related meetings, including Sunshine Ordinance meetings for those <br />interested in attending. <br />o Commissioner McLoughlin, Commissioner Bacerra and Commissioner <br />Alderete requested Sunshine Ordinance meeting information be e -mailed <br />directly to commissioners. <br />o Planning Manager Neal explained that the manner in which <br />Commissioners are notified of such meetings will be decided by <br />Executive Management. <br />o Chair Verino asked when a decision will be made on the matter. Planning <br />Manager Neal hopes to have more information by the next meeting. <br /> Reported that the Accessory Unit Ordinance is currently on hold; awaiting <br />direction from Council sub-committee. <br />o Commissioner McLoughlin inquired on the new state ordinance and the <br />number of accessory dwelling unit permits issued. <br /> <br /> <br />5. PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Bacerra: <br /> Staff and commission should work as a team; hopes that in the future it will not <br />be difficult to obtain requested information from staff. <br /> <br />Commissioner McLoughlin: <br /> Inquired about a Potter’s Lane project. <br />o Planning Manager Neal responded that this project was not selected by <br />the City to receive Project Based Vouchers. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mendoza <br /> Excited to attend the General Plan Advisory Group meeting. <br /> Thanked Commission Secretary Bernal for providing commissioners with the <br />materials from the Planning Commissioner Academy. <br /> <br />
