CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2017-11 <br />(Applicant: Angel Preschool) <br /> <br />Legal notice published in the Orange County Reporter on March 31, 2017 and notices <br />mailed March 31, 2017. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nguyen disclosed that he is acquainted with the applicant and discussed <br />the project with him. <br /> <br />Principal Planner Fregoso provided a project overview which included a project <br />description, site description and project analysis. The applicant spoke in support of the <br />project. Discussion ensued regarding the school’s operating hours and marketing <br />methods. <br /> <br />Chairperson Verino opened the Public Hearing. The following spoke on the matter: <br /> <br /> Sister Grace, representing Angel Preschool, spoke in support of the project. At <br />Commission inquiry, she stated that the school utilizes a word-of-mouth marketing <br />method; offers a year-round program; offers breakfast and lunch; and offers tuition <br />scholarships to low-income families. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers and the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />MOTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2017-13 approving Conditional Use Permit No. <br />2017-11 as conditioned. <br /> <br />MOTION: McLoughlin SECOND: Contreras-Leo <br />VOTE: AYES: Alderete, Bacerra, Contreras-Leo, McLoughlin, Mendoza, <br />Nguyen, Verino (7) <br /> NOES: None (0) <br /> ABSTAIN: None (0) <br /> ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br /> <br />2. Discussion ensued regarding the type of <br />alcohol to be served. A representative for the applicant spoke in support of the project. <br /> <br />Chairperson Verino opened the Public Hearing.
