Agreement with Kimley -Horn for Design of Protected Bike Lanes <br />May 2, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br />neighborhood the Project runs immediately adjacent to Garfield Elementary School. Continuing <br />west, the Project provides direct access to Downtown Santa Ana and its many businesses along <br />Third and Fourth Streets, just one block to the South. At the intersection of Santa Ana /Fifth and <br />Ross Streets, the Project will connect with another proposed cycletrack project running north and <br />south along Ross, and provide a direct connection to Santa Ana High School, Heninger <br />Elementary School, the Santa Ana Senior Center, multiple high density and senior housing <br />communities. <br />On March 6, 2017, the Public Works Agency released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified <br />firms to provide engineering design services for the Santa Ana Boulevard & 5t" Street Protected <br />Bike Lanes. The RFPs were also posted on the City website. A total of 7 proposals were <br />received and evaluated by a review committee from the Public Works Agency. Each proposal <br />was rated according to its qualifications, experience, capacity to perform the required work, and <br />pricing data. Categorical Exemption Environmental Review ER- 2016 -97 has been <br />filed for this project. <br />20A -2 <br />
