DAVID BENAVIDES <br />VICENTE SARMIENTO <br />JOSE SOLORIO <br />SAL TINAJERO) <br />JUAN VILLEGAS <br />COUNCILMEMBERS Absent: <br />None (0) <br />STAFF Present: <br />GERARDO MOUET, Acting City Manager <br />SONIA R. CARVALHO, City Attorney <br />MARIA D. HUIZAR, Clerk of the Council <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />• Albert Castillo, expressed concern with agendized item; urged the City to appoint Acting <br />Police Chief that does not have any political ties to the Police Officers Association. <br />• Robert Oliver, opined that Police Officers Association has ousted the Police Chief; City in <br />need of community policing and engage the community. <br />• Jennifer Rojas, representative of ACLU, read written statement into the record; emphasized <br />need to have open and transparent process in the selection of a Police Chief. <br />COUNCIL RECESSED to Room 147 for Closed Session discussion at 5:15 p.m. <br />CLOSED SESSION ITEM <br />The Brown Act permits legislative bodies to discuss certain matters without members of the <br />public present.
