CITY ANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: APPROVED ❑ As Recommended ❑ As Amended ❑ Ordinance on 1s` Reading ❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading ❑ Implementing Resolution ❑ Set Public Hearing For CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER Designate Mayor Pro Tem Michele Martinez as a voting delegate and select up to two alternates for the League of California Cities' Annual Conference's General Assembly scheduled for September 15, 2017. BACKGROUND: This year's League Annual Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13 through Friday, September 15 in Sacramento. One very important aspect of the Annual Conference is the annual Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions. To expedite the conduct of business, every City is being requested to designate a voting representative and two alternates who will be present the City at the Business Meeting. League bylaws provide that each city is entitled to one vote and to determine a city position in matters affecting municipal or League policy matters. STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #1 (Establish a comprehensive community engagement initiative to expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an active role in discussing public policy and setting priorities).
