REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />ffq &'Ldd111�YdI4i,I=�1111KCIJ7a��� <br />JUNE 20, 2017 <br />TITLE: <br />LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES VOTING <br />DELEGATE (STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 5, 1) <br />12'. <br />CITY ANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Designate Mayor Pro Tem Michele Martinez as a voting delegate and select up to two alternates <br />for the League of California Cities' Annual Conference's General Assembly scheduled for <br />September 15, 2017. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This year's League Annual Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13 through <br />Friday, September 15 in Sacramento. One very important aspect of the Annual Conference is the <br />annual Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions. <br />To expedite the conduct of business, every City is being requested to designate a voting <br />representative and two alternates who will be present the City at the Business Meeting. League <br />bylaws provide that each city is entitled to one vote and to determine a city position in matters <br />affecting municipal or League policy matters. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #1 (Establish a comprehensive community engagement <br />initiative to expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an <br />active role in discussing public policy and setting priorities). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Maria D.
