2017-18 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />E. Include Letters of Commitment from employers as Attachment D. Please see attached letters <br />of commitment to OCCTAC from various community partners/ employers for our youth. <br />Attachments include letters of Commitment from: Lilia Cerpas (Genesis Bridal Boutique), Eddie <br />Quillares Jr. (State Farm), Teresa Saldivar (Teresa's Jewelers), Heather Sanders (Chick-Fil-A), Dr. <br />Patricia Adelekan, DTM (Youth on the Move Education International), John Walcutt <br />(Shakespeare Orange County). <br />F. Include a copy of the Work Experience policy as Attachment E. <br />Please see attached OCCTAC's Work Experience Policy. <br />6. Alternative Secondary School Services: <br />A. Describe in detail the alternative secondary school services or dropout recovery services <br />that will be made available for youth. Youth will meet with the Educational Counselor at <br />least once a month to receive assistance as they decide to pursue their education. Youth <br />and Counselor will meet and create monthly goals, which will lead to youth obtaining their <br />diploma/GED. Counselor will provide youth with the various options available to them and <br />will provide guidance along the way. Counselor and youth will write down the path youth <br />decides to take. Counselor will check in with youth periodically to ensure that youth is <br />fulfilling all requirements. Prior to meeting with youth, the Educational Counselor will <br />research the alternative secondary school services available near the youth. Counselor will <br />gather information in terms of: requirements, costs, rules, schedules, entrance exams, etc. <br />After conducting research, the Counselor will meet with each youth to obtain a better <br />understanding of the participants' needs. During this meeting, the Counselor will gather <br />more information relevant to the youth's needs. Together, Counselor and youth will <br />conduct further research and ultimately find the program that best suits the participant. <br />Then, they will call and set up an appointment to meet with the representative of the <br />program. The Counselor will attend the meeting to advocate for the participant's best <br />option. After this meeting, the participant and the counselor will strategize on how to <br />further proceed. During that period of time, the Counselor will provide youth with <br />additional services such as tutoring, time management lessons, and study skills. Also, the <br />counselor will provide youth some examples of alternative secondary school services <br />EXHIBIT A <br />food and assembling sandwiches. Additional team member duties <br />include operating the drive-thru window, unloading deliveries, <br />and maintaining a clean store environment. <br />6:30am-10:00pm <br />Youth on the Move <br />Administrative Assistant/ Social Media Intern: <br />Monday -Friday <br />Education <br />Intern is responsible for computer literacy, updating social media, <br />International <br />making phone calls to participants to update contact information, <br />8:00am-6:00pm <br />and some fundraising. Intern is also responsible for clerical duties <br />such as filing documents, answering phone calls and <br />scrapbooking. <br />Shakespeare <br />Graphic Arts Intern/Marketing Intern/Administrative Assistant: <br />Monday- Saurday <br />Orange County <br />Intern is responsible for assisting in the creation of logos and <br />flyers for marketing. Intern is also responsible for updating social <br />9:00am-6:00pm <br />media and some administrative duties such a filing, organizing, <br />and data entry. <br />E.
