• Provide jobs for foster/emancipated youth, youth with disabilities and youth on <br />probation and who are Older and/or Out -of -School WIOA eligible youth and are Santa Ana <br />residents <br />• Meet/exceed the WIOA outcomes for entered employment or education, credential <br />attainment, and skill gains as outlined by the Santa Ana Youth Council; <br />• Youth who are unemployed and out of school will be enrolled into the Orange County <br />Education Corps Charter School to earn their high school diploma <br />• Provide "soft" and "hard" occupational skills training needed to complete Orange <br />County Conservation Corps work projects (i.e. evasive species removal, reforestation, <br />irrigation, construction, recycling); <br />• Provide paid work experience, trainings, and certificates to develop and/or improve <br />their resumes for future employment; <br />• Develop and maintain a portfolio that highlights their work/school/credential <br />accomplishments to use in seeking employment post -program <br />• Improve basic skills and improve at least two grade levels on a standardized tests (i.e., <br />STAR, TABE); <br />• Earn scholarships for post -secondary instruction; <br />• Develop leadership skills through various crew based and individual trainings; <br />• Transition successfully from the OCCC program into employment and/or post -secondary <br />Continuing education; <br />• Complete work projects that benefit our local communities and instill a sense of <br />community service and pride in their communities. <br />As a part of their training, Corpsmembers are placed in on-the-job training, and they are paid <br />for the work they do. These paid work experience placements have been developed by the <br />OCCC to assist local cities, county agencies, and other nonprofit agencies with their <br />conservation and land management needs. OCCC work projects are environmentally -driven and <br />benefit the community. <br />3. Population <br />A. Describe the total number of youth that will be served by this grant <br />This grant will allow 20 of Santa Ana's youth to participate in the OCCC program. <br />B. Describe the age range of the youth that will be served. <br />The OCCC serves youth/young adults ages 18 to 24. <br />C.
