NO. 17-070) (STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1B) cg CIT ANAGER RECOMMENDED ACTION CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: APPROVED ❑ As Recommended ❑ As Amended ❑ Ordinance on 13' Reading ❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading ❑ Implementing Resolution ❑ Set Public Hearing For CONTINUED TO FILE NUMBER Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to ACM Lighting Services for the replacement of sports lighting at various parks in the amount of $39,655 plus a 10% contingency of $3,966 for a total amount not to exceed $43,621, subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. DISCUSSION The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, Facilities Maintenance Section is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various park sites in the City. The park system is in need of sport lighting replacement at these seven city facilities: Adams, EI Salvador, Jerome, Madison, Riverview and Thornton parks and the Santa Ana Stadium. The new lamps will allow for continued evening use of the sports fields. The notice inviting bids was advertised on June 1 2017, on the City's online bid management and Publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: 29 Vendors were notified 31 Vendors downloaded the bid packet 9 Bids received 0 Bid received from Santa Ana vendors The bids were opened on June 28, 2017 and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bid received from ACM Lighting Services is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. To allow for unanticipated charges, a ten percent contingency has been included in the award amount. 22C-1
