NO. 17-070) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1B) <br />cg <br />CIT ANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ <br />As Recommended <br />❑ <br />As Amended <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 13' Reading <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ <br />Implementing Resolution <br />❑ <br />Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to ACM Lighting Services for the <br />replacement of sports lighting at various parks in the amount of $39,655 plus a 10% contingency <br />of $3,966 for a total amount not to exceed $43,621, subject to non -substantive changes approved <br />by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency, Facilities Maintenance Section is <br />responsible for the maintenance and repair of various park sites in the City. The park system is in <br />need of sport lighting replacement at these seven city facilities: Adams, EI Salvador, Jerome, <br />Madison, Riverview and Thornton parks and the Santa Ana Stadium. The new lamps will allow <br />for continued evening use of the sports fields. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on June 1 2017, on the City's online bid management and <br />Publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />29 Vendors were notified <br />31 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />9 Bids received <br />0 Bid received from Santa Ana vendors <br />The bids were opened on June 28, 2017 and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bid received from ACM <br />Lighting Services is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. To allow <br />for unanticipated charges, a ten percent contingency has been included in the award amount. <br />22C-1 <br />
