Grand Avenue Widening Project Environmental Impact Report Section 8.0 <br />Objective 1: Improve the segment of Grand Avenue between Seventeenth Street on the north and <br />First Street on the south to the City of Santa Ana General Plan Circulation Element and the Orange <br />County Master Plan of Arterial Highways designations of Major Arterial for this road segment. <br />The No Project Alternative would not meet this objective because it would not improve the project <br />segment of Grand Avenue to the Major Arterial designation. <br />Objective 2: Improve the flow of traffic on this segment of Grand Avenue in the City of Santa Ana, <br />consistent with existing and forecasted traffic demand. <br />The No Project Alternative would not meet this objective because it would not improve the flow of <br />traffic on the project segment of Grand Avenue, consistent with existing and forecasted traffic <br />demand. <br />Obiective 3: Provide bike lanes on this segment of Grand Avenue, consistent with the adopted City <br />of Santa Ana Bikeway Master Plan and the Orange County Master Plan of Bikeways. <br />The No Project Alternative would not meet this objective because it would not provide bike lanes <br />on this segment of Grand Avenue. <br />Objective 4: Provide a cross section on the project segment of Grand Avenue compatible with the <br />existing cross sections on Grand Avenue north and south of the project segment. <br />The No Project Alternative would meet this objective because it would provide a cross section on <br />the project segment of Grand Avenue compatible with the existing cross sections on Grand Avenue <br />north and south of the project segment. <br />Obiective 5: Provide a cross section on the project segment of Grand Avenue compatible with <br />recent improvements at local intersections with Grand Avenue and the recent improvements to <br />I-5. <br />The No Project Alternative would meet this objective because it provides a cross section on the <br />project segment of Grand Avenue compatible with recent improvements at local intersections <br />with Grand Avenue and the recent improvements to I-5. <br />F.- PROJ-ENMGrand eirWew Text - GrandlSection 8.0-new.doe Page 8-6 <br />
