Brown Ir. <br />Governor <br />t <br />JUP] 1 <br />Due to my impending resignation from the Santa Ana Workforce Development Board on <br />June 30, 2017, the Employment Development Department (EDD) nominates Dennis <br />Varnum, Employment Program Manager III — Santa Ana Cluster Manager, as the EDD's <br />representative on the Santa Ana Workforce Development Board. <br />As the Santa Ana Cluster Manager, Dennis is directly responsible for the budget and <br />staffing of three America's Job Centers of California (AJCC) located at the Santa Ana WORK <br />Center along with the Orange County One Stop Centers in Garden Grove and Irvine. As a <br />senior manager within our operations in the Orange County Region, he also has extensive <br />knowledge and experience in working with the diverse partners of the workforce <br />development community, He has provided oversight on many collaborative efforts among <br />the two Workforce Development Boards where he has AJCC's, in working towards further <br />integration of resources and more efficient customer service delivery, He also has served <br />as EDD's representative on the Santa Ana WDB's Youth Council for several years and has <br />been a committee member on several request for proposal reviews for youth service <br />providers. <br />In addition, he is the former Executive Director of the Antelope Valley Workforce <br />Consortium. In that role, he oversaw the distribution of over 2 million dollars in Title I <br />funding to four workforce development partners in the High Desert. He is a past president <br />from the Silicon Valley Chapter of the International Association of Workforce Professionals <br />(IAWP) and supports IAWP as part of his life of public service.
