Appropriation Adjustment — WIOA Rapid Response Grant Funds <br />August 15, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br />Employment Development Department (EDD) related to the WIOA program through June 30, <br />2018. <br />EDD has disbursed additional funds to Santa Ana through unilateral sub -grant modifications to <br />the agreement for Program Year 2016-17. The additional amounts allocated to Santa Ana are <br />shown in the table below: <br />Subgrant Modification <br />Dislocated Worker <br />Rapid Response <br />15% Governor's <br />Discretionary <br />No. 4 <br />$1,674 <br />No. 5 <br />$3,000 <br />No.6 <br />$487 <br />$ 505 <br />No. 7 <br />$1,040 <br />Totals <br />$487 <br />$3,219 <br />$3,000 <br />The WIOA regulations allows each LWDA to use ten percent of Adult, Dislocated Worker, and <br />Youth funds for administrative costs. Ten percent of the additional Dislocated Worker funds is <br />$48.70 and will be utilized for miscellaneous expenses. The remaining Dislocated Worker funds <br />will be utilized to provide career and training services to participants in the community that need <br />assistance. Rapid Response funds will be used to plan for and respond to layoffs and <br />dislocations, and preventing or minimizing their impacts on workers and businesses. The 15% <br />Governor's Discretionary funds will be utilized to implement the CalJOBS VOS Enhancement, <br />Touch Screen Technology project upon further direction from EDD. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of these items assists the City in meeting Goal #2 — Youth, Education, Recreation, <br />Objective #4 (Partner with groups and organization to promote education, senior services, job <br />training and development for all Santa Ana residents). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Approval of the appropriation adjustment will recognize $6,706 in revenue account (no. <br />12318002-52001) and increase the FY 2017-18 expenditure accounts as follows: <br />Account Number Program Amount <br />12318743-63001 15% Governor's Discretionary $3,000.00 <br />12318748-63001 WDB Admin $ 48.70 <br />12318754-69138 Dislocated Worker $ 438.30 <br />12318756-63001 Rapid Response $3,219.00 <br />TOTAL: $6,706.00 <br />20A-2 <br />
