PARK AND PROGRAM ANALYSIS <br />Task 2.1 Site Analysis and Mapping <br />PlaceWorks will review existing base maps for the proposed park sites and <br />Centennial Park to evaluate site opportunities and constraints. issues such as <br />._...W.._...____.u... -safety ucllieS':°ptSPnts-o'f-cgp:nectroir"drama`6e"p'attEi715"d11Z1`iil`fY'a5'ti`tTctUre-cvili <br />be -evaluated. The site analysis will also look at circulation patterns, adjacent <br />properties, existing vegetation, and views to and from the site. <br />PlaceWorks will utilize demographic, socioeconomic, and spatial analysis tools to <br />determine If the proposed park sites offer an equal orgreater level of recreational <br />value based on population needs. The analysis for each of the proposed park <br />sites and the Centennial Park site will include the number of residents within a <br />quarter mile and a half mile of each site (analyzed using a walkable network); <br />the number of park acres per 1,000 residents in each sites service area; and an <br />analysis of the population in each site's service area, which may include and is <br />not limited to race/ethnicity, age, income/poverty levels, access to a vehicle, and <br />education level. This information will be summarized In a memo and up to three <br />maps per park site. <br />Assumptions: <br />_. City staff will print any necessary hard copies of the <br />memorandum and maps, City Staff will provide one set of consolidated, <br />nonconFlicting comments. <br />Deliveroble(s): <br />— Site Analysis Memorandum In PDF format <br />Task 2.2 Program Analysis <br />PlaceWorks will utilize the City of Santa Ana General Plan, the Youth & Family <br />Master Plan Assessment Phase I, and current outreach findings to assess the <br />recreational needs in the surrounding communities, The team will gather and <br />review the most current population data from the US Census, SCAG, City Planning <br />Department, and State Finance Department to identify changing demographic <br />trends that will Impact local park and recreation planning. Additionally, the team <br />will research recreation patterns and trend information through resources such <br />as American Demographics, Institute of the Future, California Park & Recreation <br />Society(CPRS), National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Z015 California <br />Department of Park and Recreation Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor <br />Recreation Plan (SCORP), the CPRS Action Plan, Outdoor Industry Association <br />Surveys, California Arts. Council and others to Identify changing recreation <br />patterns that are pertinent to program needs for the park site.
