GOAL 2,4a) <br />INTERIM CJTY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2"a Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the Interim City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the Community <br />Workforce Agreement with the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction <br />Trades Council and the Signatory Craft Councils and Unions for Prime Multi -Trade <br />Construction Contracts over $250,000 and Specialty Contracts over $100,000 for five years, <br />subject to non -substantive changes approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney. <br />2. Adopt a Resolution amending the City's Annual Budget to add a position to administer the <br />Community Workforce Agreement in the Public Works Agency. <br />3. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment to fund the Contract Administrator position. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The purpose of the Community Workforce Agreement (Agreement) is to support the efforts of the <br />City to increase employment opportunities for workers who live in Santa Ana and to help increase <br />training and employment opportunities for the City's students in the construction trades through <br />apprenticeships and to promote efficiency of construction operations performed for the City of <br />Santa Ana and to provide for peaceful settlement of labor disputes and grievances without strikes <br />or lockouts, thus promoting the public interest in assuring the timely and economical completion <br />of the projects. <br />5513-1 <br />
