RESOLUTION NO. 2017-057 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA ACCEPTING THE AWARD OF A PITCH - <br />AN -IDEA GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE <br />DIRECTOR OF THE PARKS, RECREATION AND <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO EXECUTE <br />ANY PAPERWORK NECESSARY TO COMPLY WITH THE <br />GRANT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The State of California, California State Library ("State") issued a Notice of <br />Funding Availability dated January 30, 2017 ("NOFA") under its Pitch -An -Idea Program. <br />B. The City of Santa Ana filed an application for a Pitch -An -Idea Program grant <br />for implementation of the "Youth Know: Community Social Innovation" project which <br />promotes youth civic engagement. <br />C. The State is authorized to approve funding allocations for the Pitch -An -Idea <br />Program, subject to the terms and conditions of the NOFA, Program Guidelines, <br />Application Package, and Standard Agreement. <br />D. On June 26, 2017, the City received an award letter from the State informing <br />the City that the grant application was approved for the requested amount. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City to enter into, execute, and deliver an agreement in an amount not to <br />exceed $65,800.00, and any and all other documents including any grant assurances or <br />certifications required or deemed necessary or appropriate to comply with the Pitch -An - <br />Idea Program Grant from the State, and all amendments thereto (collectively, the "Pitch - <br />An -Idea Grant Documents"). <br />Section 3. The City of Santa Ana hereby agrees to be subject to the terms <br />and conditions as specified by the granting agency. Funds are to be used for allowable <br />project expenditures to be identified in the Agreement. Any and all activities funded, <br />information provided, and timelines represented in the application are enforceable <br />through the Agreement and/or certifications. City agrees to use the funds for eligible <br />expenditures in the manner presented in the application as approved by the State and <br />in accordance with the NOFA and Program Guidelines and Application Package. <br />Resolution 2017-057 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
