EXHIBIT A <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />1.1 Description of Organization: The Santa Ana Police Department and Jail Facility <br />opened in January 1997. The police facility is 240,000 square feet and the Jail is <br />160,000 square feet. The Police Department and Jail are 24-hour, 7 day a week <br />operations. Over 600 employees work out of this state-of-the-art facility, which deals <br />with daily normal police business, sensitive security issues, VIP tours, community <br />oriented policing and many other law enforcement responsibilities. It is necessary to <br />insure this facility maintains its high standards as a safe and healthy workplace, as <br />well as sustains a continued superior professional appearance. Therefore, it is critical <br />that the furnishings, fixtures and equipment be thoroughly cleaned in a quality <br />manner and on a regular basis by the best possible janitorial maintenance <br />organization. <br />1.2 Purpose: The purpose of this RFP is to generate proposals forjanitorial maintenance <br />services that are required for those designated portions of the Santa Ana Police <br />Department, Jail Facility, grounds, and off-site substations. <br />Police Administration & Jail Facility: 60 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br />To be serviced (7) seven days a week. The square footage covered under this <br />agreement is approximately 200,000 square feet in the Police Facility, 20,000 square <br />feet in the Jail and 2,000 square feet in the firing range (which is located under the <br />parking structure ramp). The parking structure and grounds equates to approximately <br />25,000 square feet total, all of which are also covered under this agreement. <br />Southeast Substation: 1780 E. McFadden #1146, Santa Ana, CA 92705 <br />To be serviced (3) three times per week. Refer to Section 5.4.5. <br />Westend Substation: 3750 W. McFadden Unit I, Santa Ana, CA 92704 <br />To be serviced (3) three times per week. Refer to Section 5.4.6. <br />Facility floor plans are included as an attachment to this RFP to further define what <br />areas are covered under this agreement.
