EXHIBIT "A" <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />Solid Waste collection and Recycling plastic carts ("carts") for curbside service, City of Santa <br />Ana, California <br />Description <br />Size A: 35 gallon <br />Depth: 23.75 inches maximum (including handles) <br />Width: 19 inches maximum <br />Height: 35 inches maximum (to body rim) <br />Size B: 64 gallon <br />Depth: 27 inches maximum (including handles) <br />Width: 24 inches maximum <br />Height: 39 inches maximum (to body rim) <br />Size C: 96 gallon <br />Depth: 34.5 inches maximum (including handles) <br />Width: 26 inches maximum <br />Height: 43 inches maximum (to body rim) <br />All three sizes must be available in green, grey and burgundy. <br />Technical Requirements <br />1. Body: Carts shall be injection molded of virgin high density polyethylene plastic. The <br />body of the cart shall be molded to present a smooth interior and exterior surface. The <br />body of the carts shall have a minimum wear strip under the floor of `A inch (protecting <br />the floor from abrasive contact with the street surface). <br />2. Material: Recyclable polyethylene, U.L. approved with a rating of HB or better. <br />Average Wall Thickness: Size A: Not less than .140 inch <br />Size B: Not less than .160 inch <br />Size C: Not less than .165 inch <br />Carts shall be suitable for use in temperature of >120' F to -20 F. All plastic and <br />component parts used in the construction of the carts shall be recyclable into other <br />polyethylene products. Crosslink resin is not acceptable. All carts shall be manufactured <br />with a minimum of 20% post consumer recycle content. <br />Carts shall be manufactured with a UV stabilizer. The UV stabilizer shall be added in the <br />solution during the polymerization, prior to pelletizing, compounding and molding. <br />36 <br />
