a�49r& <br />your independent healthcare choiw. <br />• Treatment given to infected inmates considers all conditions and is ordered by a clinician; and <br />• Only over-the-counter medications are used for facilities which routinely delouse inmates. <br />Pandemic Response <br />We will prepare healthcare staff to implement the aspects of our response to a pandemic of infectious <br />disease to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of inmates, staff, and visitors. It is our policy to work in <br />conjunction with the City to ensure that the health, safety, and welfare of inmates, staff and visitors are <br />not jeopardized within the confines of the correctional institution during a pandemic of infectious <br />disease. The Pandemic Response Plan is based on guidelines established by the Center for Disease <br />Control and Prevention (NCCHCJ-8-01a, ACA Communicable Disease and Infection Control). <br />8. Medication Management <br />a. NaphCare will continue to provide routine over-the-counter pharmaceutical and routine <br />prescription care for all inmates. Long-term medication for chronic care, including HIV and <br />psychotropic medications will be the responsibility of the inmate's contracting agency. Please <br />see Exhibit C Cost Proposal Narrative (under Required Forms). for pricing explanations. <br />Inmate Medical Services <br />City of Santa Ana <br />NAPHCARE'S IN-HOUSE PHARMACY SERVICES <br />Medication administration is a high-volume and high- <br />risk process, and a responsibility that NaphCare takes <br />very seriously. Safeguards are needed all along the <br />delivery system. NaphCare's goal is to provide our <br />clients with safe and efficient pharmaceutical services <br />while also reducing their drug costs. We own and <br />operate our pharmacy, which is dedicated solely to <br />the correctional facilities we serve. The pharmacists <br />are all employed by us and are highly qualified with <br />degrees in Doctor of Pharmacy, Master of <br />Administration, and Bachelor of Science, and possess <br />multiple disciplines of pharmaceutical experience. <br />NaphCare has provided pharmacy services <br />for 28 years! <br />Our in-house pharmacy is located in the same building as our corporate office and <br />provides complete pharmacy services, including management, record keeping and a <br />delivery system that stays in compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures. <br />Safeguards for our pharmaceutical provision system ensure drugs are ordered by <br />qualified providers. Pharmaceutical inventory controls ensure the availability of <br />necessary and commonly prescribed drugs and protect against loss of product. <br />NaphCare is certified and accredited by the National <br />Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®), and is the first <br />pharmacy in Alabama to receive this verification.
