EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-14 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2017-11 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />949 WEST RIVER LANE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2017-10 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On September 28th, 2017 the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2017-11) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2017-10) of the Teter House located at 949 West River <br />Lane Santa Ana. <br />B. The Teter House has distinctive architectural features of the Ranch style, <br />and was built in 1948 by an unknown architect. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as "Contributive" for its <br />exemplification of the distinguishing characteristics of the Ranch style. <br />Typical features of this style illustrated by the house include its <br />asymmetrical composition with cross -gabled roof; broad entry porch with <br />recessed entry; wood multilight windows with casement and double -hung <br />operations; open eaves with exposed rafters; and, horizontal clapboard <br />wood siding with vertical wood boards in the gable ends. Character - <br />defining features of the Teter House that should be preserved include, but <br />may not be limited to, materials and finishes: horizontal wood clapboard <br />siding throughout, vertical wood boards in gable ends, and triangular <br />dovecotes; original windows and doors where extant; broad entry porch <br />design and orientation; and rounded brick -clad pier supporting lantern to <br />the west of the driveway. <br />D.
