• Reported there will be two zone changes coming to the Planning Commission for the <br />Heninger Park Specific Development and the French Park Specific Development to give <br />authority of historic review to the Historic Resources Commission for any exterior <br />modifications to structures. Zoning issues will continue to go to the Planning <br />Commission. <br />• Announced the city website that lists designated historic properties has been updated <br />with 651 properties listed, adding the map is in progress of being updated and thanked <br />Melanie McCann and staff. <br />4. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Hardy: <br />• Noted excited on the ordinance amendment transferring part of the review process <br />from the Planning Commission to the Historic Resources Commission. <br />Commissioner Garcia: <br />• Thanked staff for the great job they are doing processing applications. <br />Vice Chair Schaefer: <br />• Thanked staff for their work on processing applications and wished staff good luck on <br />finding a replacement for Ms. Soboleske. <br />• Requested staff email the link to the web site that lists the historic properties. <br />• Apologized for arriving late. <br />Commissioner Hitterdale: <br />• Noted appreciation for staff's hard work and efforts during this time of year with difficult <br />circumstances. <br />Commissioner Rush: <br />• Noted the fee structure for the historic designations and agreements should be <br />consistent with long-term commitment. <br />• Suggested staff contact Preserve Orange County, the new preservation organization <br />for the county, and the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society to get input on how <br />the other cities are handling to obtain options for possibly changing the process. <br />• Requested the Award Program for historic preservation projects be reinstated. <br />Noted he would like to see the roll of the Commission be expanded to give more <br />authority and extract some concessions from the applicant. <br />Chairperson Christy: <br />• Read the letter received from Interim City Manager Cynthia Kurtz requesting a meeting <br />to discuss the accomplishments of the Commission the past year and plans for the <br />next year which be presented at the beginning of a future Council meeting.
