• Reported there will be two zone changes coming to the Planning Commission for the Heninger Park Specific Development and the French Park Specific Development to give authority of historic review to the Historic Resources Commission for any exterior modifications to structures. Zoning issues will continue to go to the Planning Commission. • Announced the city website that lists designated historic properties has been updated with 651 properties listed, adding the map is in progress of being updated and thanked Melanie McCann and staff. 4. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS Commissioner Hardy: • Noted excited on the ordinance amendment transferring part of the review process from the Planning Commission to the Historic Resources Commission. Commissioner Garcia: • Thanked staff for the great job they are doing processing applications. Vice Chair Schaefer: • Thanked staff for their work on processing applications and wished staff good luck on finding a replacement for Ms. Soboleske. • Requested staff email the link to the web site that lists the historic properties. • Apologized for arriving late. Commissioner Hitterdale: • Noted appreciation for staff's hard work and efforts during this time of year with difficult circumstances. Commissioner Rush: • Noted the fee structure for the historic designations and agreements should be consistent with long-term commitment. • Suggested staff contact Preserve Orange County, the new preservation organization for the county, and the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society to get input on how the other cities are handling to obtain options for possibly changing the process. • Requested the Award Program for historic preservation projects be reinstated. Noted he would like to see the roll of the Commission be expanded to give more authority and extract some concessions from the applicant. Chairperson Christy: • Read the letter received from Interim City Manager Cynthia Kurtz requesting a meeting to discuss the accomplishments of the Commission the past year and plans for the next year which be presented at the beginning of a future Council meeting. She will contact staff the next week to coordinate putting together a presentation on the path where the Commission is today and in the future. • Thanked staff for all their hard work.
