EXHIBIT 2 <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br />This Agreement is made and entered into by and between the City of Santa Ana, a charter <br />city and municipal corporation organized and existing under the Constitution and laws of the state <br />of California ("City") and Immigrant Defenders Law Center ("Grantee"). <br />RECITALS <br />A. The City desires to provide grant funding to Grantee for the provision of removal <br />(deportation) defense services that contribute to the protection of families and the education and <br />support of Santa Ana immigrant populations and that will contribute to the safety and quality of <br />life in Santa Ana and surrounding areas. <br />B. Pursuant to a separate agreement between Grantee and the Vera Institute of Justice, <br />Grantee expects to receive additional grant funding in the amount of $100,000 from the Vera <br />Institute to conduct these same services. <br />C. Grantee represents to the City that it is qualified and capable to carry out these <br />services as further described by Grantee's proposal, which is attached as Exhibit A. <br />In consideration of the foregoing recitals, the parties agree as follows: <br />1. PROGRAM OF LEGAL SERVICES <br />Grantee shall conduct the program described in Exhibit A ("Program" or "Scope of <br />Services"). <br />2. TERM OF AGREEMENT <br />The Term of this Agreement shall commence on November 1, 2017 and shall expire on <br />October 31, 2018, unless extended by the City or unless sooner terminated in accordance with <br />the terms of this Agreement. <br />3. USE OF GRANT AWARD; PAYMENT <br />a. City agrees to provide Grantee funding for those expenses associated with <br />performing, overseeing and implementing the grant project described in <br />Grantee's Proposal at Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein <br />by this reference, in accordance with the project budget contained therein <br />(`Budget"). The total amount of the grant funding from City to Grantee <br />shall be $65,000 ("Grant Award"). <br />b. Payment of the Grant Award shall be released to Grantee within forty-five <br />(45) days of City's approval of this Agreement. <br />C. Grantee shall undertake and complete the Program as described and set <br />forth in Exhibit A. <br />25B-9 <br />
