earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California and is a <br />member of the State Bar of California. During law school, Ailin advocated on behalf of <br />several underrepresented communities in Southern California as a law clerk at <br />CARECEN, Loyola Law School's Juvenile Justice Clinic, and Esperanza Immigrant Rights <br />Project. Ailin is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Alin was <br />born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and credits her hard-working immigrant parents for her <br />commitment to social justice for marginalized communities. <br />Amanda Schuft, Staff Attorney (SBN 299004) <br />Amanda Is a staff attorney with ImmDef, working in the Adult Representation Project <br />(ARP) where she manages a caseload of recently released and detained immigrants with <br />mental health issues. Amanda is a specialist in complex deportation defense cases, <br />including those complicated by criminal convictions, complicated immigration histories <br />and asylum. Amanda represented clients who are detained at the Adelanto, Theo Lacy <br />and Musick detention facilities. Previously, Amanda represented unaccompanied <br />children in deportation proceedings with Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project. Amanda <br />graduated from Universityof Oregon School of Lawand received a Post -Graduate Public <br />Interest Fellowship and the Nicole Richardson Outstanding Public Interest Award. While <br />in law school, Amanda worked with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, <br />the Civil Liberties Defense Center in Eugene, Oregon, and Catholic Charities Immigration <br />Legal Services in Portland, Oregon. Amanda earned her B.A. from Lewis and Clark <br />College in Portland, Oregon. <br />Kayleen Hartman, Pro Bono Coordinator (SBN 802631) <br />Kayleen Hartman is the Pro Bono Coordinator for the Children's Representation Project <br />(CRP) at ImmDef. She represents unaccompanied minors facing deportation and <br />recruits, trains, and mentors volunteer attorneys to increase CRP's capacity. Kayleen is <br />a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Kayleen came to <br />ImmDef from Ayuda, a Washington D.C. immigration organization, where she worked <br />with unaccompanied minors. Prior to that, she worked as policy counsel for human <br />trafficking issues at Shared Hope International, and as an Adjunct Professor of Law at <br />Georgetown University. She was a fellow at Georgetown's Human Rights Institute, <br />where she worked on a school -to -prison pipeline project. She also created an advocacy <br />project on human trafficking and business transparency. She represented asylum <br />applicants in a law school clinic, worked on human rights and human trafficking <br />litigation at Human Rights USA and International Rights Advocates, and advocated for <br />human rights issues at other organizations domestically and internationally. Kayleen <br />received her B.A. from Davidson College and herJuris Doctor and Certificate in Refugee <br />and Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University Law Center.
