NO. 17-105) <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6,2 <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />CI MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Fairway Ford Sales, Inc. for <br />the purchase of 20 Ford Police Interceptor patrol vehicles in an amount not to exceed <br />$667,845 plus a contingency of $75,000 for a total amount of $742,845 subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />2. Reject the bid from Carmenita Truck Center as nonresponsive. Vendor did not offer black and <br />white paint scheme as required in specifications. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Agency, Facilities, Fleet Maintenance and Central <br />Stores Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of <br />vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. Currently the City Fleet has a total of 532 vehicles <br />in its inventory as follows: <br />Department No. of Vehicles <br />Police 253 <br />Non -Police 279 <br />Total 532 <br />The City's Vehicle Replacement Policy provides guidelines and <br />vehicles need replacement. The Equipment Lifecycle Guidelines <br />police patrol vehicles every four years or 80,000 miles.
