Adopt a resolution approving the issuance of revenue bonds by the California Municipal <br />Finance Authority in an amount not to exceed $17,0000,000 for the purpose of financing <br />the design, construction and improvement of certain parking facilities. <br />BACKGROUND <br />In 2010, Mater Dei High School (MDHS) embarked on Phase 3 of its Redevelopment Campaign <br />under the approved Mater Dei 2000 Master Plan, which included a Development Agreement with <br />the City of Santa Ana (signed originally in 1995 and Amended in 1999). Due to an increase in <br />enrollment, the construction of the gymnasium, and future construction of the performing arts <br />center, the School and City began discussions on how to increase parking on campus. After a <br />series of meetings with the City and Staff, the school decided to embark on a plan to purchase <br />19 private homes adjacent to Mater Dei High School with the plan to build a 3 level parking <br />garage. <br />During the next 6 years, Mater Dei High School, in conjunction with the City of Santa Ana, held <br />several public forums on the school campus with the various neighborhood associations <br />representing this area of Santa Ana, received the signatures of all 19 homeowners <br />acknowledging the parking structure expansion project, and began the private purchase (no <br />75A-1 <br />
