THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
In our lives, we will face trials of many kinds. We often deal with these problems by ignoring
them or pushing the issues aside.
Unfortunately, our problems continue to grow as they remain unaddressed. They can grow to
the point of becoming the "Elephant in the Room" in our lives.
The "Elephant in the Room" refers to the point where our problems become so big to tackle,
we no longer know where to begin addressing them. Daily, they take up a huge amount of
space in our minds and hearts. It's time to make room...
There's a better way. What if we were able to see beauty in the Elephant? What if we shifted
our perspective and ran towards the "Elephants in our Rooms" with a faith knowing that there's
freedom on the other side. Let's "Look Again" and see the beauty in things perceived as broken.
Brian Peterson
Founder of Faces of Santa Ana
BOLD AS A LION
With a roar as loud and thunder, and the gentleness and quietness of a cat, the lion embodies
the problem solving boldness we all possess. This boldness and power is complemented by
meekness and gentleness. Together, you are appointed, King of the Jungle.
What if we understood the authority we were created to stand in?
What if our city's problems didn't intimidate us, but activated us all with a roaring power to
step into new areas to love?
We as a community are kings and queens. Let this piece be a reminder of the leadership we are
called into. The painting is divided in half with color. There's a warm and a cool side. They
represent the duality of a good leader. It's you and me. And like a cat, carefully balance and
walk the line between power and gentleness. In doing so, help others, and help transform the
lives around you and in our city of Santa Ana.
Brian Peterson
Founder of Faces of Santa Ana
