more the than the following commercial cannabis retail businesses to operate within <br />City limits, regardless of the location's compliance with any other Section specified in <br />this article: <br />A. 20 total medicinal cannabis retail businesses (as regulated by Article XIII of <br />Chapter 18); <br />B. 30 total adult -use cannabis retail businesses (which could include any or all of the <br />medicinal cannabis retail businesses). <br />Section 40-5. Zoning Compliance and Regulatory Safety Permit Requirements <br />Adult -Use cannabis retail activities are expressly prohibited in all zones in the City of <br />Santa Ana; however, specific commercial cannabis retail businesses are allowed as a <br />special use in the Industrial zone (M-1, M-2). The only allowed current permit type <br />pursuant to this article is for Adult -Use commercial cannabis retail sales. Adult -Use <br />cannabis retail businesses shall apply for and conduct business only in the appropriate <br />zones as described in Table 40-5 and the City of Santa Ana's zoning ordinance as a <br />requisite for obtaining a Regulatory Safety Permit. No Adult -Use cannabis retail <br />business may operate in the City of Santa Ana without a Regulatory Safety Permit. <br />This Land Use Table 40-5 shall be used to determine whether a commercial cannabis <br />business is permitted — "P", or not permitted — "X". Any Adult -Use cannabis retail <br />business in the City of Santa Ana shall also operate in compliance with the City's zoning <br />ordinance.
