E. An employee that is required by a Department Head or their designee to perform <br />the duties of a Notary Public for the City, in addition to regular duties, shall be paid <br />a monthly differential of forty dollars ($40) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. Effective July 1, 2017 the City will reimburse employees for <br />costs incurred in association with obtaining or maintaining a California Notary <br />Public license with Department Head approval. <br />5.2 Lead Pay. An incumbent who is regularly and continuously assigned to lead a functional <br />unit which includes two (2) or more positions in the same or lower classifications as the <br />incumbent may be compensated for said duties upon mutual agreement of the City and <br />SEIU and approval of the Department Head and the Executive Director of Personnel <br />Services. This compensation shall be referred to as "lead pay" and shall be set at a rate ten <br />(10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) above his or her then current base monthly <br />salary step. <br />In addition, incumbents in the following classifications who are regularly and continuously <br />assigned to perform lead supervisory responsibilities will receive lead pay compensation <br />at a rate set ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) above his or her then current <br />base monthly salary step: Buyer, Customer Service Representative, Equipment Operator - <br />Motor Sweeper, Information Services Representative, Librarian, Library Services <br />Assistant, Parking Meter Technician II, Senior Systems Administrator, Graphics Designer <br />II, Senior Accounting Assistant, Housing Specialist II, Senior Librarian, Workforce <br />Specialist 11, and Workforce Specialist III. <br />An incumbent in the classification of Custodian who is regularly and continuously assigned <br />to perform lead supervisory responsibilities will receive lead pay compensation at a rate <br />set fifteen (15) salary rate ranges (approximately 7.5%) above his or her then current base <br />monthly salary step. <br />Any employees who have continuously received lead pay for leading the same functional <br />group for five years shall have their lead pay assignment made permanent. <br />5.3 Bilingual Pay. An employee who is assigned by a Department Head or their designee to a <br />position requiring bilingual capability in both English and any other languages designated <br />by the Orange County Registrar of Voters as necessary for official voting information and <br />or Federal Voting Rights Act and sign language, will be paid a monthly assignment pay <br />differential in accordance with the criteria and amounts set forth below: <br />A. Certification by ,the Executive Director of Personnel Services as having <br />satisfactorily demonstrated conversational fluency in both languages for any <br />position requiring bilingual capacity. <br />ill <br />25B-18 <br />
