Application <br />Exhibit 1 <br />City of Santa Ana- CDBG <br />City of Santa Ana Community Development Block <br />Grant FY 2018-2019 (Nonprofit Application) <br />City of Santa Ana- CDBG <br />DESCRIPTION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Community Development <br />Block Grant (CDBG) program is a flexible program that provides communities with resources to <br />address a wide range of unique community development needs. The program provides annual <br />grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties to develo eviable urban communities <br />by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment,, <br />ad by expanding economic <br />opportunities, principally for low- and moderate -income persops., <br />Funding <br />Funding will available to experienced nonprofit organizatiorfs>for the provision of public service <br />that include an emphasis on crime prevention, interventior(and/or suppression efforts for <br />children, youth and/or families or an emphattttfsis oonn-econa� c development. A new subcategory <br />of funding will be available for a Summer Night\ ights_P�otNPvogram. Programs will be funded <br />from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. \\ // \7 <br />The City will continue its $30,000 mini ' m fun). i�tg amount per applicant to ensure that <br />CDBG programs make the greatest imp cct!n ouf community. <br />The maximum funding oars is`$7 .000 per program; however, organizations that submit a <br />joint application may ceAt est�a, axirgtum of $100,000. <br />Nonprofit organizations mbst be in good standing and have no outstanding monitoring findings <br />prior to a 2018-19 CDBG awa\Zll nonprofit applicants must be able to document 501(c)(3) <br />status. Applicants whose status is pending at the time of application will not be considered for <br />funding. <br />Nonprofit Organization Collaboration <br />Nonprofit organizations may submit a joint application with other nonprofit organizations. <br />Collaborating nonprofit organizations must meet all the application requirements. <br />Cost Reimbursement Agreement <br />Grants are provided through a Cost Reimbursement Subrecipient Agreement. Reimbursement <br />requests are allowed on a quarterly basis; therefore organizations must have enough working <br />capital to continue services until a reimbursement request can be processed by the City.
