ARTICLE IV <br />4.0 SALARIES <br />4.1 Basic Compensation Plan. There is hereby established a basic compensation plan for all <br />members of the Association who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any <br />of the designated classifications of employment listed in this MOU. <br />4.2 Salary Schedule. The basic salary schedule, as periodically'updated and published by the <br />City is comprised of four (4) steps or rate ranges of pay for swom (CaIPERS "Safety') <br />employees and five (5) steps or rate ranges of pay for non -sworn (CaIPERS "Miscellaneous") <br />employees. <br />The steps within each range are identified by the letters "A" through "D" inclusive for swom <br />(CaIPERS "Safety") classifications and "AA" through. "D" inclusive for non -sworn <br />(CaIPERS "Miscellaneous") classifications, with Step "A" being the lowest step for sworn <br />(CaIPERS "Safety".) and Step "AA" being the lowest step for non-swom (CaIPERS <br />"Miscellaneous") classifications. <br />The assignment of classes to salary rate ranges during the term of this MOU is listed in the <br />City's salary schedule, as periodically updated and published by the City. <br />4.3 Salaries. <br />A. The base salaries of employees covered by this MOU shall.be adjusted -as follows: <br />Effective July 1, 2017, employees covered by this MOU shall receive a salary <br />increase of three percent.(3%).. <br />2. Effective January .1, 2018, employees covered by this MOU shall receive a <br />salary increase of two and a half percent (2.5%). <br />3. Should any other employee bargaining unit of the City receive a salary <br />increase greater than the increases set forth in Subsections 1 and 2, above, <br />payable during the"term of this MOU, the employees covered by this MOU <br />shall also receive that higher salary increase at the same time as it is received <br />by the other employee bargaining unit. <br />4. The City and Association agree that upon the expiration of this MOU and <br />during the period of good faith negotiations fora subsequent, contract, salary <br />and benefits shall continue afthe then current rate. <br />251-8 <br />
