Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute contracts for a two year term <br />with the option for the City to grant up to a one year renewal for a team of three consulting <br />firms (MIG in the amount of $238,500, AECOM in the amount of $69,070, and Placeworks in <br />the amount of $48,000) to provide planning and technical services for the preparation of <br />comprehensive General Plan Update for the City of Santa Ana, subject to non -substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In February 2017, the City of Santa Ana was awarded a Sustainability Planning Grant for <br />$325,000 by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) through a regionally <br />competitive process. The project, Santa Ana Envisioning Sustainability Together, will help to <br />prepare a General Plan Update that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. In <br />July 2017, the City of Santa Ana formally accepted the SCAG grant by approval of a resolution, <br />as well as authorized the distribution of a revised Request of Proposals (RFP) for planning and <br />technical services to assist City staff with the preparation of the General Plan Update, with an <br />emphasis on sustainability. The SCAG grant will augment the City Council's prior commitment of <br />$2 million allocated to the comprehensive update of the General Plan. <br />25M-1 <br />
