Construction of a new affordable <br />residential community, 2. Rehabilitation of the existing commercial structures at the north and <br />east portions of the project site, 3. New site amenities and landscaping, and 4. Modifications to <br />Fifth and Hawley streets. These components are described in greater detail below. <br />Table 2: Project Summary <br />The first component of the project includes demolition of the existing, vacant automotive repair <br />structure at 2237 West Fifth Street (comer of Fifth and Hawley streets). In its place, the applicant <br />proposes to construct the subject affordable residential community. The community will be built in <br />a single structure containing four levels. The first level will contain the majority of the site's private <br />open spaces, including community rooms and management offices. This level will also contain <br />the onsite residential parking in a structure that is designed to be concealed from view.
