ARTICLE XVII <br />17.0 DUES DEDUCTION & INDEMNIFICATION <br />17.1 Dues Deduction. Upon ratification and approval of dues collection by <br />Association membership, the City shall deduct dues, on a regular basis, from <br />the pay of all employees recognized to be represented by CASA, who <br />voluntarily authorize such deduction, in writing, on a form to be provided for <br />this purpose by the City. The City shall remit such funds to CASA within thirty <br />(30) calendar days following their deduction. Provisions for such dues <br />deduction shall be included in future MOUS should CASA members elect to <br />authorize the deduction. <br />17.2 Indemnification. The Association agrees to hold the City harmless and <br />indemnify the City against any claims, causes of action, or lawsuits instituted <br />by a member or members of the Association arising out of the deductions or <br />transmittal of such funds to the Association, except the intentional failure of <br />the City to transmit, to the Association, monies deducted from the employees <br />pursuant to this Article. <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA (CASA) MOLI: 2017 - 2018 <br />25H-68 <br />Page 64 <br />
