ARTICLE I <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provisions of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, Government Code Section 3500, <br />et seq., the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter called the "City") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Management Association (hereinafter called the "Association") as the recognized <br />representative of the bargaining unit which includes Police Department employees in the <br />classifications of Police Communications Manager; Police Commander, Deputy Chief of <br />Police, Police Administrative Manager, Jail Administrator, and Police. Systems Manager. <br />(The former titles of Police Lieutenant, and Police Captain may continue to be used by the <br />City for such purposes as salary surveys and compensation comparisons fo"r the titles of <br />Commander and Deputy Chief of Police, respectively). <br />251-5 <br />
