To comply with the AUMA, <br />the CityCouncil approved a new <br />commercial cannabis ordinance on <br />October 17, 2017, allowing new farms of <br />wmmarclal cannabis business activity in <br />the all industrial areas. In Dade, to <br />comply with additional provisions of the <br />AUMA, the City is required to amend <br />additional portions of Chapter 16 relating <br />to Medical Man4mmar <br />Colleollves/Ccoperatives. hese <br />amendments will update the ordinance to <br />require filing of a regulatory safety permit <br />AAgZSP) with the Planning and Building <br />ency and will authorize the Executive <br />Director of the Planning and Building <br />Agency to approve or deny an RSP <br />application . The amendments will also <br />update certain definitions to comply with <br />the AUMA and to ensure consistency with <br />the City's new commercial cannabis <br />ordinances contained in Chapter 40. In <br />addition to the required amendments to <br />Chapter 18, the City is proposing to <br />amend Chapter 21 to increase the gross <br />receipts tax rate for medical marijuana <br />collectivea/ceoperatives. The amendment <br />would increase the tax rate one <br />percentage from 5 to 6 percent . <br />Additional amendments would update the <br />definitions in Chapter 21 to remove <br />reference to colectivrelcooperatives in <br />of business and operator's duty to notify <br />the City with a final closeout audit . This <br />matter will be heard on Tuesday, <br />November 7, 2017, at 5:45 pre or <br />immediately following the 5:00 p.m. <br />Closed Session, in the City Council <br />Chamber, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Sante <br />Ana, California. All persons interested in <br />this matter are notified to appear at this <br />time.
