Mitre -Ramirez, Norma
From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:
Attachments:
December 19, 2017
The Honorable Miguel Pulido
Mayor, City of Santa Ana
Santa Ana City Council
20 Civic Center Plaza
P.O. Box 1988, M31
Santa Ana, CA 92701
Re: Small Lot Ordinance
Elizabeth Hansburg P41H <elizabeth@peopleforhousing.org>
Tuesday, December 19, 2017 2:18 PM
eComment
Small Lot Ordinance
Santa Ana Sm Lot Ord 12-19-2017.pdf
Dear Mayor Pulido and Honorable Councilmembers,
People for Housing — Orange County is a grassroots, pro -housing non-profit organization. We are part of the
YES In My Backyard (YIMBY) movement comprised of Orange County residents concerned about the
shortage and high costs of housing in our communities. We have organized to advocate for policies that will
enable more housing production in Orange County to address the affordability crisis currently gripping
communities throughout California.
On behalf of our members, I am writing to urge you to adopt the Small Lot ordinance you are considering.
This innovative planning tool provides developers with the flexibility needed to build housing affordable to
todav's middle class families. This "missing middle" housing is in desperately short supply in Orange County
communities.
As pro -housing advocates, we commend you for your forward -thinking consideration of this innovative
development tool and hope you will adopt it. It is a valuable tool in making the dream of homeownership
possible for working families. Thank you for your time and thoughtful review.
Respectfully,
Elizabeth Hansburg
