jmf 1/24/18 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 -XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING CITY PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />BUREAU OF RECLAMATION'S WATERSMART DROUGHT <br />RESPONSE PROGRAM FOR THE WELL #32 <br />REHABILITATION PROJECT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows <br />A. The City of Santa Ana completed a Well Nitrate Mitigation and Rehabilitation <br />Study for Well #32 in February 2013. <br />B. The City currently has a consulting firm preparing construction documents <br />(Plans, Specifications & Estimates) for the Well #32 Rehabilitation Project. <br />C. The United States Department of the Interior offers financial assistance in the <br />form of grant funding through its Bureau of Reclamation's WaterSMART (Sustain and <br />Manage America's Resources for Tomorrow) Drought Response Program for this type of <br />project. <br />D. The maximum grant amount that the Drought Response Program may award <br />is $750,000 per application. <br />E. The Drought Response Program requires that at least half of the total cost of <br />the project be provided by the requesting agency. <br />F. The City desires to fund part of the construction cost of the Well #32 <br />Rehabilitation Project with grant funding from the WaterSMART Drought Response <br />Program. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the Executive Director of Public Works, or his or her designee, to sign and file, for <br />and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, a grant application from the Bureau of <br />Reclamation's WaterSMART Drought Response Program for the Well #32 Rehabilitation <br />Project up to the amount of $750,000. <br />Section 3. The Executive Director of Public Works, or his or her designee, is <br />designated to provide the assurances, certifications, and commitments required for the <br />grant application, including executing a financial assistance or similar agreement with the <br />Bureau of Reclamation and any amendments or changes thereto. <br />Resolution No. 2018 -XXX <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Exhibit 2 <br />55B-7 <br />
