DISCUSS AND PROVIDE STAFF DIRECTION REGARDING IMPACTS <br />OF HOMELESSNESS THROUGHOUT THE CITY, AVAILABLE <br />RESOURCES, AND POTENTIAL AND LEGAL REMEDIES (MAYOR PRO <br />TEM MARTINEZ AND COUNCILMEMBERS SARMIENTO AND <br />SOLORIO) <br />Councilmember Sarmiento, noted goal is not to criminalize the homeless <br />population, but to hold the County accountable, need to share responsibility <br />with all Orange County cities, $2 million currently spent on Civic Center <br />services, and Orange County expectation to clear the Santa Ana Riverbed; <br />requested staff ascertain budget for homeless services, to develop plan to <br />address homeless issue and standing to sue County. <br />Councilmember Solorio, opined homelessness is at a crises level; over <br />7,000 calls for services as a result of homelessness, expressed the need to <br />work with the County to find solutions; City of Anaheim's model on reporting <br />metrics of homelessness, recent receipt of funds by City from Housing and <br />Urban Development Agency focused on housing; seek reimbursement from <br />the County for services. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 1 OA 2e15 JANUARY 16, 2018 <br />
