The General Plan <br />Update was commenced in November 2015 by the City's Planning Division who conducted ah <br />extensive community outreach program between December 2015 and July 2016. Participants <br />included residents, local leaders, the business community, and advocacy group representatives. <br />In addition, a summer program led by local youth focused on youth concerns. In all, over 40 <br />public meetings or events were held with 457 people attending. The results were summarized in <br />the Santa Ana General Plan Update Community Outreach Executive Summary that was <br />distributed to City Council in October 2016. <br />In January 2017, a General Plan Advisory Group (GPAG) was formed to provide <br />recommendations to City staff regarding the vision and draft policy direction of the document. <br />The 18 individuals invited to participate in the General Plan Advisory Group reflected our diverse <br />community with senior, youth, business, neighborhood, and other community representatives. <br />The General Plan Advisory Group also included members of City Boards and Commissions. <br />After 14 meetings, the General Plan Advisory Group (GPAG) concluded its review of draft <br />General Plan goals and policies in November 2017. An overview of GPAG meetings and <br />discussions has been attached for your review (Exhibits 1 and 2). <br />65A-1 <br />
