0City of Santa Ana Recycled Water Master plan <br />A critical step in the identification process is <br />the identification of likely conversion sites. <br />While there may be potential customers <br />which could use recycled water the TRHA <br />Team has extensive experience in <br />Identifying and verifying potential customers <br />that are likely to convert to recycled water. <br />The TRHA <br />Team <br />will work <br />with City staff to <br />evaluate <br />prospective conversion users <br />and identify <br />the <br />customers <br />which will <br />be <br />used for <br />developing <br />the <br />hydraulic <br />model <br />Development of Recycled <br />Water Distribution System <br />The fourth step in developing <br />the Recycled Water Master <br />Plan will be developing a <br />potential recycled water <br />distribution system. Criteria for <br />system pressures, pipeline <br />Velocities, pressure zones, <br />storage, and pumping <br />40% <br />requirements will be <br />developed. The recycled water system will <br />be developed based on those criteria, A <br />GIS -based KYPIPE hydraulic model will be <br />developed as a tool to size the proposed <br />recycled water system facilities. The <br />recommended recycled water system <br />alternative will be selected based on the <br />lowest cost while serving the most recycled <br />water. <br />Based on our experience, the largest <br />recycled water customers drive the creation <br />of a recycled water system. Figure 3 shows <br />recycled water customers versus the <br />percent of total recycled water demand for <br />the Long Beach Water Department. In this <br />case, the top six customers equaled BO <br />percent of the potential recycled water <br />demand and the top 20 customers equaled <br />80 percent of the potential demand. This is <br />reflective of most recycled water systems. <br />Since this is the case, our approach is to <br />develop infrastructure to serve the largest <br />customers. Smaller customers may be <br />served if they are along the route to larger <br />customers (pipeline routes will be <br />developed to pick up as many of these <br />customers as possible).
